Baptism
Baptism is an act of God through the grace of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit. It is the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith. In the Global Methodist Church, we believe in both believer’s and infant baptism. While in believer’s baptism one is professing her or his own faith in Jesus Christ, we believe God is faithful even when one is unable to make that profession, and will guide an infant throughout the years to someday profess a faith of her or his own. This happens in part through the witness of those who vow to be guides in the journey to faith, including the congregation and members of her or his family. If you would like to know more about baptism, or would like to be baptized, contact Pastor Ty Williams at (937) 698-4401.
Membership
Membership in the Global Methodist Church is considered an active commitment to follow Christ and support the ministries of Hoffman Global Methodist in particular, and the Global Methodist denomination in general, through your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness in order to make disciples for the transformation of the world. So all can be aware of the “distinctives” of Global Methodism amongst other Christian communities, there is a short series of classes offered periodically for those considering joining as members at Hoffman GMC. Being a member is not required to share in fellowship, communion, or in many of our areas of service. Some positions of leadership, however, do require church membership. If you have more questions, or would like to enroll in our next class, please call (937) 698-4401.
What We Believe
As Global Methodists, we affirm the faith shared by Christians across the globe, as expressed in the words of these historic creeds.
The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Nicene Creed (A.D. 381)
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from
true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through Him all things
were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven, was incarnate
of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human.
For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered death and was buried.
On the third day He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will
have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the
Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic* and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism
for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of
the world to come. Amen.
